The powerhouse couple, Chip and Joanna Gaines, are back on TV, and that also with their own network. While making their appearance on The Tonight Show on Friday, November 6, Chip shared the news with an exciting sensation.
Chip & Joanna returning to TV
When asked about their plan on whether or not they will be back on TV by the talk show host, Jimmy Fallon, Chip replied,
“We signed a non-disclosure, and it said, quote-unquote, you can tell your mother, but that’s it. So mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement, we are coming back to television. You are going to get to see the kids grow up, you are going to see us, well maybe a six-month delay like the rest of the world, but we are excited to be back.”
The DIY and home renovation masters revealed they’re partnering with HGTV parent Discovery on a new network, which is expected to start within 12 to 18 months. The new channel will be named after Chip and Joanna’s design and decor company, Magnolia. While talking about the plans on their new show and all, Chip disclosed,
“So we actually partnered with (CEO) David Zaslav and Discovery, we’re actually going to have a network, and I think we’re going to really carve it out in a way that makes sense to us and our family. It’s going to be filmed a lot in Waco, Texas, so we don’t have to travel a whole lot. So with all things being equal, we’re really excited.”
Why was Fixer upper canceled? What are Chip and Joanna Gaines doing now?
Fixer Upper star Joanna also teased the news shortly after their “Tonight Show” appearance on Instagram. Also, Magnolia confirmed the news in a statement during an interview with People. The spokesperson of the company, John Marsicano said,
“We’re excited to share that we are currently in the early stages of talking with Discovery about a lifestyle-focused media network for Magnolia. The details surrounding this opportunity remain a work in progress, but together, our hope is to build a different kind of platform for unique, inspiring and family-friendly content.”
Magnolia Home star cast Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Net Worth in 2018
The DIY and home renovation masters sent shock waves to fans in September 2017 after announcing the end of Fixer Upper. One of the main reasons that triggered their decision was a family priority and their security. The pair welcomed their fifth child, son Crew in June. While fans were downhearted when they got to know about their exit from TV, they got a reason to celebrate with the big news of their return. The last episode of Fixer Upper aired in April.
