Ed Sheeran received the Artist of the Year award at the 2017 MTV VMAs. He beat the night’s big winner Kendrick Lamar for the award. Other singers nominated were Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Lorde.
The category was introduced freshly this year and combined the previous Best Male Video and Best Female Video categories.
