Doug Davidson has been let go of Young and the Restless after 40 years. The 63 years old actor has confirmed that he won’t return to the show on social media.

Fans’ Reaction to the Exit of Doug Davidson

Doug has been portraying Genoa City’s police chief, Paul Williams, on the show. In a conversation with Soap Dirt, the veteran actor opened, “My contract was not renewed in January, and I have been recurring since then.”

A fan asked on Twitter, “They haven’t let you go, have they?” The actor replied, “It would seem so.” Fans are shocked by the sudden exit of Doug from the show and have been sending him wishes on Twitter.
