For many of us, celebrities are not just celebrities. They are our inspiration, friends and role models. So, we mourn when they pass away. Here are some celebrities who died in 2017 but live in our memories forever. 

Roy Holladay (May 14, 1977 – November 7, 2017)

Former MLB pitcher for Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies was killed in a plane crash in the Gulf of Mexico at the age of 40.

Brad Bufanda (May 4, 1983 – November 1, 2017)

The ‘Veronica Mars’ actor committed suicide by jumping off a building in Los Angeles. He was 34.

Robert Guillaume (November 30, 1927 – October 24, 2017)

The ‘Benson’ actor died at 89 in his sleep surrounded by his family after he battled prostate cancer for years.

Fats Domino (February 26, 1928 – October 24, 2017)

The Rock and Roll legend died at the age of 89 due to natural causes.

Sean Hughes (November 10, 1965 – October 16, 2017)

The Irish comedian who suffered from liver cirrhosis died at 51 due to cardiac arrest after he was rushed to hospital.

Roy Dotrice (May 26, 1923 – October 16, 2017)

The Tony Award-winning actor died in his London home at the age of 94.

Ralphie May (February 17, 1972 – October 6, 2017)

The stand-up comedian died at 45 in Las Vegas due to cardiac arrest. He was also battling pneumonia.

Tom Petty (October 20, 1950 – October 2, 2017) 

The Grammy-winning singer died of cardiac arrest at the age of 66.

Hugh Hefner (April 9, 1926 – September 27, 2017)

The ‘Playboy’ founder died of cardiac arrest and respiratory failure at the age of 91 in his home in Los Angeles.

Chuck Low (July 21, 1928 – September 18, 2017)

The ‘Goodfellas’ actor died at the age of 89 at a nursing home in New Jersey.

Harry Dean Stanton (July 14, 1926 – September 15, 2017)

The ‘Twin Peaks’ actor died of natural causes at the age of 91.

Michelle Rounds (May 10, 1971 – September 11, 2017)

The ex-wife of Rosie O’Donnell committed suicide at the age of 46.

Frank Vincent (April 15, 1937 – September 13, 2017)

Sopranos actor Frank Vincent died at the age of 78 due to surgical complications.

Blake Heron (January 11, 1982 – September 8, 2017)

‘Shiloh’ actor died at the age of 35 due to a possible drug overdose at his home in Los Angeles.

Troy Gentry (April 5, 1967 – September 8, 2017)

One half of the band ‘Montgomery Gentry’ died during a helicopter crash in New Jersey at 50.

Walter Becker (February 20, 1950 – September 3, 2017)

The guitarist for the rock band, Steely Dan had been battling with various health issues for more than a decade before he died at 67.

Richard Anderson (August 8, 1926 – August 31, 2017)

‘The Six Million Dollar Man’ star died of natural causes at the age of 91 in his home in Beverly Hills.
