Camila Cabello is a Cuban-American singer songwriter who is best known as one of the members of girl group, Fifth Harmony. She made her career debut as its member in 2013. In December 2016, it was announced that Camila had left Fifth Harmony to pursue a solo career.

Camila was born as Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao in Cojímar, Havana, Cuba, on March 3, 1997. When she was five, her family moved to Miami, Florida. 

In 2012, when she was 15, Camila auditioned for The X Factor and was eliminated during bootcamp episode. She and four other female participants, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane Hansen, Normani Kordei, and Ally Brooke formed a girl group that went on to be known as Fifth Harmony. They finished at third place. As Fifth Harmony, Camila was signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco Music and L.A. Reid’s Epic Records.

Fifth Harmony released their debut EP, Better Together, in 2013. Upon release, it reached number six on the US Billboard 200. Their debut studio album, Reflection, was released two years later. 

Outside of Fifth Harmony, Camila collaborated with Shawn Mendes as a singer and songwriter for Mendes’ track, I Know What You Did Last Summer, which was released in November 2015. She also lent her voice to Machine Gun Kelly’s Bad Things in October 2016. Her departure from Fifth Harmony was announced on December 18, 2017.
