Food Network's Sweetheart Anne Burrell's struggles before Rising to Fame?

Anne Burrell has been associated with various food organizations, and she has worked in different restaurants. During her early days, she landed a job in a small restaurant La Bottega del ‘30 located in Tuscany, Italy. Shortly after that, she returned to America and worked in Felidia with known chef Lidia Bastianic.

Anne’s friendship with Lidia proved as a career-changing path for her, as she got to improve her cooking skill and later got a chance to work in Savoy. Her career began to flourish afterward, as she started getting many opportunities, including the opportunity to serve as an executive chef in Centro Vinoteca. However, she later quit running her own restaurant in 2010.

Anne Burrell's Television Appearances

Talented Anne has made several television appearances. In 2005, she was asked to work as one of the sous chefs for Iron Chef, Mario Batali on the Food Network’s Iron Chef America series. She made her comeback on the show as a participant in 2011 and finally ended in as 4th Runner-up being eliminated on the sixth week.

She has been hosting Food Network's Worst Cooks in America since it's the first season that premiered on January 3, 2010. In the show, Burrell along with her co-host leads participants through ‘culinary boot camp’ to make them better cooks. In the first season of series, she won the challenge with Rachel Coleman over MacMillan and Jenny Cross.

In season 2 that premiered on January 2, 2011, Chef Robert Irvine replaced MacMillan.  Burrell made a bet risking her signature hair, and Irvine risked going platinum. But again, Burrell won the challenge along with Rachel Coleman. The third season premiered in 2012 also brought her victory with Kelli Powers over Bobby Flay’s recruit Vinnie Caligiuri. However, the 4th season ended with Flay’s team winning over Burrell’s team.

Some of her popular recipes include Bolognese sauce, meatballs, short ribs, lasagna rolls, focaccia bread, turkey’s recipe, carbonara pasta, gnocchi recipes, braised chicken, French onion soup, roast chicken, chicken cacciatore, tiramisu, etc. Moreover, she has also published her cookbook, Own Your Kitchen.  The versatile culinary artist also hosted Food Network's Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell from June 2012 to October 2013.
