Highly acclaimed contemporary dancer Allison Holker is best known for appearing in reality dancing competitions like So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars. Grew up specializing various dance forms like Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, and Tap, she has established a full-fledged career in dancing.
No doubt, she had an interest in dancing from a very young age that led her to join The Dance Club to shape her skills at the age of 9. Her first notable performance came in 2002 Winter Olympics’ opening and closing ceremonies with the American band Earth, Wind and Fire.
In the following years, she had numerous dance titles winnings also including her 1st national competition in 2004 in Co DANCE and as National Senior Outstanding Dancer at NYC Dance Alliance in 2005.
She burst onto the scene when she joined So You Think You Can Dance competition. She advanced to the top 8 on the 2nd season of Fox’s reality dancing show and also performed in that season’s nationwide tour. Her unique talents and popularity led to an invitation to return as an All-Star in the 7th season and remain through season 11. It was when she met her future husband, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss. She also performed on the show Ballroom with a Twist, choreographed by Louis Van Amstel.
She made an appearance in PBS Special Tried and True alongside American Idol famed Clay Aiken. Also, she was featured in Christina Perri’s video for song Jar of Hearts and was one of the backup dancers of Demi Lovato in September/October 2011. Also branching out into choreography, she has taught at different dance conventions & workshops throughout the country. In addition to that, she appeared with Brian Freidman as a backup dancer on The X Factor USA.
In 2014, she was announced as one of the twelve professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars season 19. Partnered with the Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett, she finished at the 9th place being eliminated in week 6. In 2015, she made it to the finals, finishing in the 2nd place while she partnered with actor & singer Riker Lynch on the 20th season.
In 21st season, she partnered with Andy Grammer, a singer and ended up in 7th place. Holker missed the 22nd season due to pregnancy but returned for the 23rd season with Babyface, and ended up in 11th place. in April 2013, she performed a dance routine with Stephen Boss in DWTS.
Dancing pro, Holker is also known to have numerous films appearances. She had a role in Disney Movie High School Musical (2006) and its sequel High School Musical 2 in 2007. During 2013, she starred in TV series Hit the Floor and also had a brief role in movie Make Your Move.
Allison was nominated for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography in 2013. Throughout her career, she hasn’t only become many dance fans’ favorites but has also bagged whopping fortune. Her estimated net worth is $2 million.
