Born on 22nd July, 1940, “Alex Trebek” is a Canadian-American television personality. Since 1984, he has been host of the popular game show ‘Jeopardy’. Alex also hosted various game shows like The Wizard of Odds, High Rollers, Double Dare, Classic Concentration, Battlestars and To Tell the Truth.
Alex initially studied philosophy at the University of Ottawa prior taking an interest in broadcasting and media sector. He started his career as a sports and newscaster working for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1961. Trebek covered various special events and national news while he was associated with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
In 1966, he debuted as host of the game show. Trebek hosted a quiz show called ‘Reach for the Top’which featured high school age contestants. In 1970, he hosted the ‘Jackpot!’ then he moved to the USA to host the show called ‘The Wizard of Odds for NBC’. Later, he was seen hosting the game show ‘High Rollers’ and ‘The $128,000 Question’ in 1978.
